More information about Aida Camp and Lajee Center:

Lajee Center is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization established by a group of refugees from Aida Refugee Camp in 2000 to serve the youth of their camp.  Lajee means "refugee" in Arabic.  Through the most trying days of the last decade, the Center has provided children and youth ages 5 to 21 with after school programs, mentoring, tutoring, and, most of all, lots of camaraderie.  In recent years, it has become home to a thriving dance troupe, a library, a computer lab, and a bustling media center.  Lajee Center has also taken children on trips to Egypt, Syria, Belgium, and the United Kingdom for cultural exchanges – and has even sponsored trips to the children's home villages inside Israel.
